We had a nice turnout for our August meeting at Jim's. The members are excited about the activities scheduled for the coming year. Some are: Safety Seminar, Poker Run, altitude chamber, joint meeting with Austin Chapter and pinch hitters seminar. Sherry was out of town at the August meeting, but since then, she has reminded me that her hangar is always available for our chapter activities. Our next gathering will be the picnic Saturday, September 17 at Sherry Walker's (2060 Silver Hills) beginning at 2 PM. Jo Agee-Housler will bring Bill Miller's barbeque and all the "go-withs". The cost is generally about $5 a person - pay Sherry Walker when you arrive. Appetizers, dessert and tea will be furnished. If you'd like beer, wine, etc., please BYOB. Invite family and friends - everybody welcome! Come join the conviviality!
Please call or e-mail Jo - she will need a headcount by Sep13th. Phone 210-646-7739. E-mail jeveagee4@yahoo.com.
Directions from San Antonio: Take IH-10 West towards Boerne. Turn right (north) on Fair Oaks Parkway (FM 3351). You will go all the way through Fair Oaks. From IH-10 to Silver Hills is about 10 miles. When you cross Ammann Road, itŐs about 1 mile to Silver Hills. Turn right. (About 1/2 block in, there is a tiny right/left jog, but stay straight on Silver Hills.) Sherry's house is 1 mile on the right and #2060 is on the mailbox.
We have a new member, Arpinder Kaur. She has moved to San Antonio and is transferring her 99s membership from the Kansas Chapter. She is a CFI working at Wright Flyers. She plans to come to the picnic. WELCOME, Arpinder. Looking forward to meeting you.
Add Arpinder to your chapter directory: Arpinder Kaur, 6038 Woodway Court, San Antonio, TX 78249. (h) 210-757-4609, (c) 210-849-4254 (best way to reach her). E-mail: skyflyr2b@yahoo.com
Mary Rohrer has a new e-mail address. It is: mary_l_rohrer@yahoo.com (That's a lower-case L between the underscores.) Please make the change in your chapter directory.
Section Meeting is September 30-October 2 in Colorado Springs. For the chapter records, please let Nancy know if you are going.
PAISA/GAPA's next meeting is September 7 (always the first Wednesday) at 7 PM at Hallmark. Topic: "Survival Preparedness and Techniques".
EAA - San Geronimo - Young Eagles Rally. September 24, 9 AM. We are inquiring (again) if the 99s may fly the kids. It seems, even though the 99s are insured for this purpose, EAA has certain rules that only allow EAA members to fly during their rallies. However, they always need volunteers to escort or work in certain areas. If you would like to help out, contact Brad Doppelt at: (h) 210-538-5046 (c) 210-380-2025 e-mail at: brad_doppelt@yahoo.com
Everyone is enjoying the bios being published in the newsletters . . . . but we don't have bios on everyone! As you well noticed, they don't appear in any order. Actually, because I have been working with what I have. Now, again, I ask you to send me a bio on yourself. Most of you could write a book, but 1/2 page to a page would be great. Of course, we want to hear all about your flying and aviation activities, etc., but add something personal about yourself too.
Happy Birthday!! To Ruth Nichols (Sep 8) and Mary Rohrer (Sep 13).
99s Anniversaries: Stella Leis (28 years) Thank you, Stella!!!

SEE YOU ALL AT THE PICNIC !!
