San Antonio Chapter 99s
October 2009

Next meeting - joint with EAA, New Braunfels airport October 10 at 9:30. Their guest will be Carol Ann Garrett's presentation of her and Carol Foy's around the world flight. Since we have the same meeting days - generally the 2nd Saturday of the month - we would like to include each other in programs of joint interest.

Our November 14th meeting will be 9:30 - 11:00 AM in the New Braunfels Airport conference room. The program will be "Know your plane", which was postponed in August. EAA chapter members will join us for a very enlightening presentation by Cheryl Casillas and Shaun Maycock. Must say TENTATIVE for now. If it changes, will let you all know.

How much aircraft icing can spoil your day? Ice no thicker or rougher than coarse sandpaper can reduce lift by 30% and increase drag by 40%. Be aware - late fall and early spring, as well as winter - ice can form anytime in freezing temperatures and visible moisture.
