We had a great turnout for the January meeting at Stinson Airfield. We carpooled over to the Stinson Air Museue, and even though the museum was cold, they did heat a room for us upstairs for the meeting. See the Minutes for all the details and list of attendees. We enjoyed lunch in the new restaurant at Stinson, and then toured the new upstairs classrooms. Certainly doesn't look like the same place. Very impressive! We have been invited to hold our meetings there every Saturday, if we wish, of which we will take advantage sometimes.
Next meeting: February 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the home of Denise Pride. Denise will give a presentation on Pilots n Paws.
We also had a nice attendance at the Zonta Amelia Earhart dinner. Ray had just come home from the hospital and wasn't doing real well, so he and Stella didn't attend as they had planned, and were missed. Attending were: Reni Moczygemba, Gloria Blank, Jo Agee-Housler, Sherry Walker, Laura Richter, Cheryl Casillas, Marty Goppert, Margaret Cosby and friend, Claire and new 99 member, Pam Fishman. As usual, we had a very nice time and those Zonta ladies are delightful!
Several members have asked about ordering our matching shirts - new members might be interested as well. We are ordering them from Wanda Did It. Her email address is: wandajohnston@gmail.com and phone number 816-529-2461 or 816-419-1344. Tell her you want the light blue striped shirt with the embroidered airplanes. If you like, there is also a tank top available to wear under the shirt with an embroidered airplane on it. Or you can wear your own shell or t-shirt. Even though it's not a requirement, many members have ordered the shirts and we often dress in "uniform" when we go places together. The shirt is $32.99 and tank top is $14.99.
