San Antonio Chapter 99s
February 2007

The next chapter meeting will be held Saturday, February 10th, 10 AM, at Grady's BBQ, private room, 327 Nakoma, southbound side of 281. We will be ordering from the window individually when it is time for lunch. We are fortunate that Col. Michael Cosby happens to be on leave and has accepted our invitation to speak and give a video or slide presentation. Michael is the pilot son of Margaret Cosby, who has been serving in Iraq for the past 3 years. This is one of those don't-want-to-miss meetings. Bring your spouse, friends - everyone welcome.

99s Headquarters puts out a newsletter, "Dispatch", each month (around the 1st) with some good information. You can read it on the 99s website: http://www.ninety-nines.org      It is noted in an article in the January issue that Future Woman Pilot's Award has been renamed to New Pilot Award. This award can be used towards any first pilot license, including recreational and sport, as well as private. The February "Dispatch" is now available on the 99s website.

Some of us met our new member, Terry Klemcke, at the January meeting. Terry has her PPL and joined the 99s in December 2006. She and her husband, Hank, are living in San Antonio. Here's her information: 9819 Rebel Queen, San Antonio, Texas 78255, phone 830-755-4182, e-mail tklemc@yahoo.com, birthday November 21st. Welcome, Terry!

2007 is chapter elections year. Nancy has appointed the Nominating Committee: Patty Taylor, Winnie Clements and Sherry Walker. Nominations will also be taken from the floor at the March meeting. If you are interested in holding office or nominating someone, please contact one of these ladies. Sherry Walker will retain the office of Treasurer. Installation of officers will take place at the Awards Banquet in June.

A trip to the altitude chamber is being planned. If you are interested in going, you will need to be at the February meeting or contact Patty Taylor: (h) 210-695-3032 (c) 210-317-8348. She will take names and checks at the February meeting. The fee is around $50 and must be paid when signing up for the chamber. The sessions will accommodate between 8 and 16 people. 99s come first, and if there is room, others will be accepted. You must have a current medical certificate to participate.
