Return Newsletter pageOur next meeting will be at Winnie Clements’ on February 14, 2004 at 10 AM. Here are the directions: 281 North. Turn east on Bitters. Go one block to Heimer. Turn left. Go to Perennial (at Coker School). Turn right. Go one long block to Dutch Myrtle. Turn left (north). It’s the 5th house on the right (east) side of the street, #13518. Winnie promises to have heart cookies!
We had a real good turnout for the Zonta dinner and Nancy gave an entertaining talk about her flying adventures.
Winnie is arranging for our meeting March 8, to be held at 6 PM at Jim’s Coffee Shop, San Pedro and Ramsey. Order from the menu. We are hoping to see some of our members who have been unable to attend the Saturday meetings.
The April 10th meeting will be with Eunice Lewis. We’ll meet at Nancy’s at 10 AM and carpool over to Eunice’s home.
Gloria has reserved the meeting room at her apartment complex for May 8 from 10 AM to 4 PM with a break for lunch at Margaritas. We will train with the NASA aerospace education materials.
Also in April (23-25) is the Section Meeting in Houston. Looks to be a lot of fun and the prices are reasonable, so let’s plan to go – carpool, planepool, whatever!
We will very soon be planning for our Awards Banquet, which is generally held around the first part of June.
Another little reminder – in four months, Sherry will be asking for our Chapter dues ($12 a year). If you haven’t paid for 2003 yet, please send her your check. We voted during the last meeting to award a $500 scholarship for flight training to one of our members. Let’s make sure the money is there with some left over! Any additional donations are certainly appreciated. There have been a few aviation articles donated to the chapter to sell, which is a neat way to add to our treasury.
Lots more information in the Minutes (attached). And, be sure to read the article submitted by Cheryl Casillas, “How to Tie Down Your Airplane So It Can’t Fly By Itself” (also attached).
See you February 14th at Winnie’s.
