Wow! Another year almost gone. We've accomplished a lot and had loads of fun. Our Christmas party will be our final event of the year and we certainly hope everyone will attend. The information was included in the November newsletter as well as several emails. Thank you Stella and Sherry for all your work on the arrangements. We're going to have fun!!Peggy Aguirre is moving to Australia for two years and will transfer her 99s membership to that Section. But, she promises to transfer back to SAT when they return.
Couple of neat items from Stella Leis. Thanks, Stella!
Hurricane - to find out how much rain is expected from a hurricane, divide the forward speed by 20. So, if the speed is 100, divide by 20, and the answer is 5 inches.
Base of the clouds - Take the difference between the dew point and the temperature. If the temperature is 70 and the dew point is 52, the difference is 18. They converge at 4.4 per thousand feet. So, 18 by 4.4 equals 4.090. Then times 1000 equals 4090 which is the base of the clouds.
